Your passport contains an encrypted chip inside. If you scan it with a smartphone or device that supports NFC, your identity can be verified quickly, conveniently, and securely.
Devices That Support NFC
1. Mobile Phones
Android
Most Android phones that support NFC are mid-range to higher-priced models, such as:
- Samsung S series, some A series, and Note series
- Huawei Mate and P series
- Xiaomi Mi series or higher-priced models
Note: Some lower-priced Android models do not have NFC. You may need to check the specific model.
iPhone
- iPhone 7 or newer with iOS 13 or later supports NFC
- iPhone 6 and older models cannot scan passports (they only support Apple Pay)
2. Tablets
Only some tablet models include NFC, such as:
- Certain iPad Pro models
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S series (some models)
Note: Most tablets on the market do not support NFC, so checking the exact model is recommended.
